Random Game

Can't decide what to play? Let Dartly pick a surprise game and settings for you.

Overview

The Random Game card in Dartly's New Game wizard removes every setup decision. Tap it once and Dartly instantly assembles a ready-to-play match: a random game mode, randomized settings for that mode, and a single leg you can start right away.

It sits alongside the 8 real game modes on the game-selection screen, marked with a dice icon. Picking it does not create a new game type — it simply hands you one of the existing 8 with its dial spun.

How It Works

Each tap works the same way, in order:

Your existing players and teams, League Mode, input mode, and any Hit and Beat advanced settings are left exactly as they were — only the game mode and that mode's own options are randomized.

What Gets Randomized

Every game mode has a different set of adjustable options, so each one gets randomized differently:

Game What Gets Randomized
X01 Starting score (301, 501, or 701), In option (Straight/Double/Master In), and Out option (Straight/Double/Master Out)
Cricket Variant (Standard, Cut-Throat, or No-Score)
Around the Clock Variant (Standard, Doubles Only, or Triples Only) and finish target
Killer Starting lives (1 to 5)
Shanghai Variant (7 rounds or 20 rounds)
Halve-It Nothing — Halve-It has no optional settings to randomize
Baseball Nothing — Baseball has no optional settings to randomize
Hit and Beat Variant (Classic, Shuffle, or Chase) and starting lives (2 to 5)

Match Format

A random pick is always played as a single leg, never best-of-legs or sets. The whole point is an instant, no-setup game — a multi-leg or sets format would mean reviewing options that were just decided for you.

Confirmation Mode

Confirmation Mode works the same way no matter which game mode gets picked. If it's turned on, tapping the dartboard opens a magnified 1.5× overlay showing the segment you hit and its two neighbors — tap the correct segment to confirm the score, or tap outside to cancel. It's especially useful for telling apart close segments such as Double 20 vs Triple 20, whichever game mode you land on.
